About Bella
I believe therapy should feel like a place where you can finally take a breath and put down some of what you’ve been carrying. The ways we respond to trauma, difficult emotions, and conflict are not flaws - they are our minds and bodies doing their best to protect us. We can get curious about where those responses came from and whether they are still helping you. My role is to meet you with honesty, compassion, and a little humor as we work through the uncomfortable parts together and help you feel more like yourself.

EMDR Therapy
What to expect.
You can expect a laid-back, welcoming space where you can put your guard down and leave worries about judgment at the door. I bring a mixture of humor, deep empathy, validation, and honest human connection to our sessions.
We’ll explore what has been weighing on you at a pace that feels comfortable, while working toward a version of life that feels more like your own. Therapy can feel like a lot of pressure, so my goal is to make our time together feel sacred - and maybe even something you look forward to.
Hi, I’m Isabel “Bella” Brockman.
I am an EMDR-trained clinical associate social worker. My journey toward becoming a therapist began in adolescence, when I was often the person others turned to for a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on. After hearing, “You should be a therapist,” enough times, I started to believe it might be true. Years later, my involvement in racial justice protests and mutual-aid efforts showed me the kind of role I wanted to have in my community. I came to see social work as a way to work within established systems while still questioning them, challenging harm, and advocating for change.
My approach is humanistic, honest, and grounded in genuine connection. Clients often tell me that I speak like a “real person”-professional, but without putting on a clinical face or creating an unnecessary power dynamic. I draw primarily from EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-focused care, and person-centered approaches. I especially enjoy supporting teens and LGBTQIA+ clients, as well as people navigating trauma, identity, difficult emotions, and major life experiences.
At the core of my work is the belief that your responses to trauma, conflict, and overwhelming feelings are not personal flaws. They are ways your brain and body learned to protect you. Rather than judging those responses, we can appreciate how they helped you survive while exploring whether they still serve you today. Therapy may sometimes involve moving through uncomfortable moments, but you will not have to do that work alone. Together, we’ll create space for relief, greater self-understanding, and meaningful change.
