Go Deeper with Therapy: Introducing LMT's Therapy Intensives
Weekly therapy is helpful for consistent, supportive care that creates sustained change over time. Sometimes, that’s exactly what you need: to go slow, to go at the pace of your nervous system. Other times, you may feel ready to dive in deep and commit focused, condensed time to your healing journey.
Love Meets Therapy is now offering therapy intensives - immersive therapy experiences that give you a head start to healing. Tailored to support individuals, couples, or small groups, therapy intensives allow clients to explore material that can be difficult to address within the limits of a weekly session. Leading up to the half-day or full-day therapy intensive, one of our therapists will support you through an inclusive intake process and help you prepare for the day. A therapy intensive can be a great way to kick-start therapy. You can then follow up with regular therapeutic support and maintenance afterwards or the intensive can be a complete journey in and of itself. Either way, your therapy intensive package comes with an integration session to help you and your partner(s) bring your insights back into your daily life.
Somatic Therapy Intensive
Somatic therapy intensives are for individuals, couples, or small groups who have been in traditional talk therapy before and are looking to deepen their analytical awareness through embodied practices and lessons about the nervous system. Participants will explore their “window of tolerance,” learn about the vagus nerve, and practice somatic tools that may help them respond to anxiety, distress, and nervous-system dysregulation. You will leave this somatic therapy intensive with daily practices to strengthen your resiliency and decrease overall distress.
Intimacy & Desire Intensive
Intimacy and desire therapy intensives support couples and non-monogamous groups in exploring their sexual concerns in a non-judgmental and trauma-informed container. Participants will map their pathways to desire, learn to support past sexual trauma in a current healing relationship, and discover tools to enhance pleasure. Whether you are coming to this intensive with a lot of sexual experience or a little, with a high desire or a low libido, with kinky thoughts or vanilla leanings, the intimacy and desire intensive will help you feel more connected to yourself and your partner(s).
Communication & Conflict Intensive
The communication and conflict therapy intensive uses research-driven and results-oriented therapy practices from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Nonviolent Communication, and the Gottman Institute to help people in relationships learn to be more compassionate, clear, and constructive in the way they navigate conflict. By learning to “fight fair,” identify individual and collective needs, and reflect your partner’s experience, you can begin to navigate communication in a way that leaves you and your partner feeling truly heard - perhaps even for the first time in your relationship!
The format of a therapy intensive fast-tracks months of weekly therapy while still managing to go slow enough to feel, integrate, and really embody the insights you experience in this day long (or half-day long) experience. Concentrated momentum allows you to “get to the good stuff” that is often cut short in weekly therapy. You can finish your sentence, take a full breath, step away from the demands of the day and fully immerse yourself in a container that is tailored to you and your relationship's unique needs.
While the condensed nature of a therapy intensive may feel intimidating to some, rest assured that the priority of the experience is to create an emotionally safe container for your system to heal. Beyond learning, beyond the amazing tools that you will be able to walk away with, the benefit of a therapy intensive is that there is finally time for you to take up as much space as you need. Therapy intensives are helpful for clients who have both been in therapy before and who are just beginning their mental health journey. The intake sessions before the big day will assist in creating that unique blend of skills and tools that will support and empower you the most.
